I Have a Zone Not Working
So you have a zone, station, or cycle that’s not working. Well, a group of sprinklers that run at the same time could be called any of those names. Today, lets call it a zone. Zones are controlled by a valve. There are 3 types of valves. The most popular is an electronic valve, which has 2 low voltage wires that energize a solenoid to open the valve. If your electronic valve is not opening, it is most likely a bad solenoid or diaphragm. It could also be that the controller / timer is not putting power out, or perhaps a cut wire. If the system is over 10 years old and you did not have a power surge, it is probably the diaphragm. If you have had a power surge or lightening strike, it is probably a burnt wire or an open solenoid.
