Low Water in Lakes

It has been dry this year in Orlando and the lakes are low. That is why we are experiencing a high rate of algae in irrigation systems that pull their water out of the lakes.  There will still be the same amount of algae, but since there is less water in the lake, the algae is simply looking for a place to live. Algae grows in water and requires very little sunlight, so sometimes it grows in unwanted places like inside your irrigation filter and pipes.

This is why we have so much algae this year. If it rains more this year, the algae should go away. If not, get ready for more algae in August.
